Building automation system manufacturer, Computrols, has added a new distribution partner in Columbus, OH and the Central and South Florida markets. Their new running mate, Plug Smart was formed in 2008 as a customer-centric, comprehensive energy services company.
Beyond their energy efficiency expertise, Plug Smart’s financial team has been very successful at helping to create self-funding opportunities with the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) programs.
“PACE is an innovative program that makes it possible for owners of commercial and industrial properties to obtain low-cost, long-term financing for energy-efficiency, water conservation and renewable energy projects. PACE has been established in 32 states and its statutes authorize municipalities and counties to work with private sector lenders to provide upfront financing to property owners for qualified projects, and to collect the repayment through annual assessments on the property’s real estate tax bill.” – Marketwired, 2016
Plug Smart has generated extraordinary growth over the last several years making the Inc. 500 list in 2013, 2014, and 2015 and the Inc. 5000 list in 2016.
“We have had Plug Smart on our radar for some time now,” said Computrols’ Manager of Strategic Partnerships, Mike Clayton. “We are excited to partner with a company that is continuously expanding its footprint and shares the same customer-centric values as Computrols. We are looking forward to a mutually-beneficial, long-term relationship.”
Plug Smart will offer Computrols full line of HVAC controls, lighting controls, access controls, and fire alarm system. Computrols DDC control line is well-known throughout the building automation industry as one the most robust and rugged on the market. Computrols remains the only manufacturer to provide a lifetime warranty on such devices.
Plug Smart’s Controls Business Leader, Steve Boyce, said, “we are most looking forward to expanding our product offering for customers who require multi-platform support. Computrols system allows us to control HVAC, lighting, access, and fire alarm systems all from one intuitive software platform. It will also give us the capability to integrate with the proprietary, legacy building automation systems of third-party manufacturers.”
The partnership has gotten off to a quick start with Plug Smart beginning to service Computrols’ existing customer base in the Tampa/Orlando region. The two companies are optimistic about significant growth in their partnership within the calendar year.
