Computrols has added another strong Distribution Partner to our network. Ranor Mechanical based in Jay, Maine is the newest valued member of the Computrols family.

Coming from a traditional plumbing and heating background, friends Raymond and Norman (Ra-Nor) decided to go into business, and in the early ’70s, Norman bought out his business partner. Inheriting the business from his father 15 years ago, Aaron St. Pierre, who had studied mechanical engineering, took over and added the mechanical arm to the business. Historically their customers have been residential based but with the mechanical side of the business coming online, they slowly expanded into more commercial buildings.

Growing steadily over the years, Ranor Mechanical now has two offices in Maine with 15 office staff, over 45 field-based personnel, and an annual revenue in excess of $15 million a year. Adding Computrols to their offering is key to reaching their goals of expanding into more commercial buildings and getting more design-build projects.

Recently, Ranor Mechanical reached the conclusion that dealing with 3rd party systems and their inherent service and maintenance issues was holding them back. With customer service being their primary focus and referrals and recommendations being their sole avenue of growth, they wanted to offer their own line of controls. After some research Carl Piirainen, Control Manager at Ranor Mechanical discovered Computrols.

Ranor Mechanical is already planning its first design-build project on a four-building apartment complex using Computrols software and controllers. Carl and his team are looking forward to being able to impress their customer with the finished install and empowering them to reap the full benefits of such a simple-to-use platform.
