As you are aware Computrols Building Automation Software (CBAS) and our web-based interface CBAS Web feature the ability to send emails from the system. Prior to CBAS20 and CBAS Web v20 sites were able to select their own outgoing email servers (if available) or they could elect to use a free Gmail account.

Google has recently announced that it will no longer support this connection method as of May 30, 2022

If your site is currently using a CBAS version that predates CBAS 20 and using Gmail for sending email alarms, that feature will no longer work after this date.

If your site has CBAS Web and uses Gmail for sending email alarms and/or reports, that feature will no longer work after this date.

Impacted CBAS Sites

In order to continue to receive email alarms from CBAS, you MUST upgrade to CBAS 20. Beginning in CBAS 20, all email alarms are now handled directly by Computrols at no extra cost and the need for outgoing email servers has been eliminated. Please contact your Sales Representative immediately to discuss your options for upgrading to CBAS 20.

Impacted CBAS WebSites

In order to continue to receive email alarms and/or emailed reports from CBAS Web, you MUST upgrade CBAS Web through a Computrols Software Maintenance Agreement. As of CBAS Web v20, all email alarms are now handled directly by Computrols. Please contact your Sales Representative immediately to discuss your options to upgrade to CBAS Web v20.
