Computrols Partners with Ranor Mechanical
Computrols has added another strong Distribution Partner to our network. Ranor Mechanical based in Jay, Maine is the newest valued member of the Computrols family.

Coming from a traditional plumbing and heating background, friends Raymond and Norman (Ra-Nor) decided to go into business, and in the early ’70s, Norman bought out his business partner. Inheriting the business from his father 15 years ago, Aaron St. Pierre, who had studied mechanical engineering, took over and added the mechanical arm to the business. Computrols, a leading manufacturer of DDC controllers – alongside our powerful, yet simple, building automation software – is delighted to announce, we have recently added Pro Cooling Inc. as our latest valued Distribution Partner.

Offering service, maintenance, and repair mainly for HVAC control systems, Pro Cooling started in Miami, FL a mere 3 years ago. Knowing that he could offer better service himself, he started Pro Cooling and 3 years later he has a team of 10 people with plans to add up to 3 more technicians to handle their rapidly expanding customer base. They also plan to open their first office which will serve as their headquarters by the end of 2020.

How to Program Software Points in CBAS
The easiest way to program Software Points is by going to Hardware View, finding the controller then going to Points. In Editor Mode or in Live Edit you will see a line at the bottom of the points that says Add A Software Point. Click that to add a point.
Note that all the standard Software Point types are there but there are also a few select System Point types. For example, Controller Run Minutes is a Point that counts the minutes that a controller has been running without a reboot. This can be helpful in determining if a controller’s power is being interrupted
