Automation is the purpose of Computrols Building Automation System (CBAS). It’s there to make sure that on a daily basis you don’t have to be deciding what pieces of equipment should be running and when. This includes the VAV’S, AHU’s Chillers, Boilers, and Pumps that are often automated within a Building Automation System.
In building automation system applications, the most common types of analog signals are milliamp and DC voltage.
DC voltage signals are most often measured using 0-10V signals, but we also sometimes see 0-5V or 2-10V. The reason for the popularity of the voltage signal is it is easy to troubleshoot and almost all controllers will accept this type of signal.
If your facility currently has a legacy control system that needs upgrading but you don’t have the capital budget for a full retrofit, you are likely considering some form of building automation system integration. By integration, we are referring to an approach that would leverage some portion of your existing
George explains what a useful tool the Hardware Report can be for your building automation system for troubleshooting and estimating.
Smart buildings are becoming more common in modern-day society. Being that they are made up of a multitude of internet-connected devices, cybersecurity is of the utmost importance. These devices, if not safeguarded, can pose a highly desirable target for cybercriminals.
As a result of social distancing requirements recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Computrols will be hosting our first-ever, online training courses. Each course will include expert instruction over a three day period. Each day will include 3 to 4 hours of lecture with time for Q & A.
George describes how to erase the database for a controller if this is needed. There are a number of options and ways to do this and George explains them all here.
Cybersecurity in today’s modern world is serious business. As the technologies used in Smart Buildings become more advanced it is important to ensure that the components that make up these systems are secure in an effort to mitigate the risk of cyberattacks.
