How do I Install RAID?
After connecting the primary and secondary hard drives to the primary and secondary IDE controllers on the Adaptec 1200A RAID card, turn on the computer.
As the computer is booting, you will see a message that says “Press Ctrl + H to enter Raid Bios Configuration Utility.” When the utility opens, you will see the Create Array screen. You will have to go through 4 steps.
- Select Array Mode. Choose RAID 1.
- Choose Create & Duplicate. Type in a name for the array, such as CBAS RAID.
- Select Disk Drives. On the bottom half of the screen, you will see Channel Status.
- Highlight the drive that you want to be disk 1 in the array, and hit Enter. The drive will be marked with a (1).
- Highlight the drive that you want to be disk 2 in the array, and hit Enter. The drive will be marked with a (2).
- Start Creation Process. When the duplication process is complete, exit the utility and the OS will boot.
