How do I execute a RAID Recovery in CBAS computers?

If a drive in the RAID array goes bad and becomes inaccessible, when booting up, the Broken RAID 1 screen will automatically appear. In the bottom half of the screen will be a list of remaining members of the array. The top half of the screen has the following choices:

  1. Power off and replace the failed drive.
  2. Destroy Mirroring Relationship.
  3. Choose Replacement Drive and Rebuild.
  4. Continue to Boot.

If you have another drive to replace the failed drive with, choose (1), shut down the computer, and replace the drive.

Boot up the computer and choose (3), Choose Replacement Drive and Reboot..

On the bottom half of the screen, you will see Channel Status.

Highlight the drive that you want to be disk 2 in the array, and hit Enter. The drive will be marked with a (2).

If you should happen to choose (4), Continue to Boot, and find later that the original drive was not plugged in or something like that (nothing wrong with the drive):

Shut Down. Put the drive back in and boot up. The RAID utility will come with the following screen:

There will be 2 choices:

  1. Duplicate Now
  2. Continue to boot

To the right it will say, “The RAID array needs to be duplicated to ensure data consistency.”

Choose 1. Duplicate Now, or it will continue to tell you it needs to be duplicated each time the computer boots.

Note: If you have the RAID utility software loaded in Windows, the array can be duplicated while the OS is running.
