How do I scale a Database?

  1. Switch to Utility Mode and open your db
  2. Select System > Scale Database
    • Generally you will need to scale a controller’s db and not theDPU
  3. Select the controller whose db you wish to scale
  4. Find an item which has none of its records used and click in the ‘Num Records’ field – Adjust this number by SUBTRACTING a number of records from it
    • You can zero out an unneeded record
  5. Select the ‘Num Records’ field for the item that was maxed out – Adjust this number by ADDING what you subtracted from the previous step
  6. Save db and close CBAS Utility Mode when done
  7. Open CBAS Real Mode and select Hardware View
  8. Select the controller of the db you just scaled
  9. Select ‘Erase Database’
    • You can either select ‘Force Database Download to Controller’ or just wait – Either way the db will load up to the controller.
