Opened in 1963, Methodist Hospital is a 672-bed, acute care, regional referral center with 2,500 employees that is the pioneer flagship hospital of the South Texas Medical Center. It is San Antonio's largest private hospital as well as the largest provider of health care to rural communities in South Texas and international patients from Mexico.
